På gårdagens vandring började vi, som några gånger förr, fundera på vad vi har gett oss in på. Att gå 140 mil och dessutom blogga om det! Om det bara hade varit en utmaning oss emellan hade vi ju långsamt kunnat låta den lösas upp till något i stil med ”det vore väl roligt att om vi kunde gå några mil häromkring” . Men det funkar ju inte riktigt så längre när vi offentligt sagt att vi ska gå hela Östgötaleden. Sedan det kom ut har vi fått både många glada tillrop och flera som vill följa med oss och traska. Men 140 mil- det är långt – som från Linköping till Kiruna. China vill dela den framtida sträckan i 10-tals mil (egentligen vill hon inte tänka alls på hur långt vi har kvar men om hon måste…) och jag i tiondelar. Fördelen med det är ju att vi oftare kan fira våra delmål. De kommer ju bara sammanfalla när vi har nått halvvägs och när vi är klara. Just nu har vi gått 15 mil (om vi inte räknar med det som vi gick innan utmaningen startade) och alltså passerat två milstolpar, tio mil och fjorton mil. Vi har alltså bara fem mil till nästa delmål eller tretton om vi räknar på mitt sätt. Så höll vi på igår och dividerade (och adderade) när vi plötsligt blev alldeles matta över hur långt det faktiskt är kvar. Är det värt det? Men just i samma ögonblick, på en öde grusväg mitt ute i ingenstans, dök en ängel upp. På mountainbike susade hon förbi och tjoade ”det är ju ni, från Hälsotecken! Vilken rolig idé!” innan hon försvann i ett dammoln med sina änglakompisar. Kvar stod vi på vägen och hittade hem i tanken. Det är ju därför vi gör det, för att det är ”en sån himla rolig idé!”. Och med förnyad energi började vi gå, mot Bjärka Säby och mot Kiruna!
Gårdagens vandring gick mellan Kristineberg och Säby Västerskog (ca 14 km) och är en fortsättning på vår färd ”Rängen runt”. Vi ömsom tassade i marker där vi gått förut och erövrade nya stigar. En blåsig dag mojnade till en stilla kväll och vi kunde konstatera att vitsipporna i veckan hade bestämt att börja dra sig tillbaka för att lämna plats för nya kompisar. Efter fem timmars utevistelse (det tar tid om man ska hinna med att både fika och fota utöver vandrandet) blev vi upphämtade och tillbakaskjutsade till bilen.
