Eftersom China just nu är ”ett kravel” (tydligen dalmål för vad vi i Östergötland kallar ”en emlig person”) och inte är fullt återställd efter en elak luftvägsinfektion som hon hade för några veckor sedan valde vi idag en kortare sträcka för vår vandring. Då vi tidigare i vår genade på vår väg genom skogarna mellan Strålsnäs och Mjölby var det bara att återvända till brottsplatsen och göra bot och bättring. Bilen ställdes vid vägen upp till grustäkten strax efter infarten till Bleckenstads gårdsbutik och så gav vi oss av norrut. Vi hann dock inte många meter innan himlen öppnade sig och släppte en hagelskur över oss. Men redan inom några minuter ångrade sig vädergudarna och vi kunde vandra vidare i uppehåll.
Då vi visste att sträckan skulle bli kort idag hade vi bestämt oss för att ägna oss åt vår andra utmaning i friluftssammanhang – att laga mat på stormkök. (Den tredje är att sova utomhus men den väntar vi lite med). Första gången gick det inte så lysande då vi inte lyckades få fyr på eländet med den självtändande startknappen och hade glömt våra tändstickor. Därefter har vi dock fått en grundläggande primusutbildning av Chinas bror så idag kändes vi oss redo att pröva vår vingar på egen hand. Sagt och gjort och det dröjde inte länge förrän pastavattnet bubblade i kastrullen. Till skam och sägandes måste jag väl dock erkänna att jag innan dess hade gömt mig bakom vindskyddet när China tände gasen eftersom jag tycker att hela gasolgrejen är lite läskig (om nu min kamrat är ett kravel så måste nog jag tillstå att jag är en fegis).
Efter att ha inmundigat gemelli och köttfärsås med riven parmesan var det dags att dra vidare. Väl framme vid Eriksdal vände vi och gick för första gången tillbaka samma väg som vi kommit. Efter en avslutande sväng till gårdsbutiken i Bleckenstad och inköp av blåbärsaft var vi tillbaka vid bilen. Trots en sträcka på 6,6 km hade vi bara gått 3 NYA kilometer på Östgötaleden. Med sådan dagsetapper lär det dröja innan vi är klara med vår utmaning. Men å andra sidan har vi idag blivit kompis med ett gasolkök!
